Gibraltar Literary Festival - John Mackintosh Hall Feature

Produced at Wright Tech Media for the Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival 2017. I produced a series of illustrations based on the destinations of Gibraltar and festival areas. The aim was to highlight the beauty of the destination and promote reading. Each location features a character reading and enjoying the space.

I photographed the area to capture the full width of the environment using the result as a reference I drew the piece in photoshop.

The artwork features the John Mackintosh Hall, one of the festival's locations. It is the main cultural Centre in Gibraltar. It is the home of the Gibraltar Cultural Services offices and sees on average over 100 different events in a year within its different facilities.

The full panoramic image. The curved perspective and stylistic approach was the biggest challenge of the piece, making sure the character would also blend in and achieve a cohesive piece.

The full poster. As the designer for the festival and artwork, I had a lot of flexibility in creating pieces.

Closeup of the area. The colours of the area were a treat to work with. the sharp and distinct highlights produced many fantastic shapes.
