Commission | Togruta Fighter - Kota
Commissioned for an event held at the Gibraltar International Comic-Con 2019 - Live Tabletop run by Alister Fa, who commissioned another piece and featured Spencer Wilding, played Darth Vader in Rogue One. Naturally, the world and characters were based on the Star Wars universe.
Linework is something I really enjoy, and since the background was empty I experimented with fading it in to fill the space :D
The original ref was tilted back, it shows off just how balanced and controlled the fighter is but within the close up didn't work as powerfully.
Experiment with angle and a speed effect on the fist
Even silhouetted, that fist means business.

When drawing fighters I like to use the wide range of UFC, boxing and MMA fighters out there. Nothing beats years of work you can observe in them.
